Clare Kilner's writing an ddirecting career began with the short film Saplings, which earned her entrance to Britain's Royal College of Art, where she earned
an M.A. in Film and TV Directing. In 1994, she directed the short film, Daphne and Appollo, for the BBC/Channel 4 series Brief Encounters. In 2003, she directed How to Deal, which starred Mandy Moore and Emmy-winner Allison Jenney. In 2005, Clare directedThe Wedding Date starring Debra Messing
and Dermot Mulroney, which made her the second highest grossing female director in the world.
