Samsung Mobile Fresh Films has a sister program called Girls in the Director’s Chair. This program is for girls only (sorry boys)…Women only hold 17% of the creative gigs in the film industry. After learning that disturbing fact the creators of Fresh Films started an all girl initiative to empower you to strive for your creative dreams!
Through this program we provide girls nationwide with
the experience, resources and space to express your individuality. Our all-girl filmmaking program gives girls like you the chance to create, shoot and edit a short film, while working and learning alongside industry pros.
In 2007, two crews were flown to Hollywood where they directed Hollywood actresses Laura Prepon (That 70’s Show) and Rachael Leigh Cook (Josie and the Pussy Cats); to each star in their empowerment films, Once Upon A Time and Half Court Push.
The program also works with female film professionals who offer advice and support girls. Watch some of our podcasts to see more on what these wonderful women had to say.
We’re constantly thinking up more ways to help you build a creative future and we’ve got lots of big announcements in store for 2008. Be sure to sign up for the Girls in the Director's Chair mailing list for the latest and greatest information!
Let’s put more girls in the director’s chair!
